A Quick Question

As you may have noticed from the title, this isn't a monthly wrap-up post. I've never done a monthly wrap-up post, because the sad fact is that I have little to no life, and the stuff I would write about is sad and painful and I don't want to write a “leave me sympathy comments” post, and liquid nitrogen really hurts, *cough* because I am a rebel, deal with it. XD

In fact, I don't even have a post for today! *ducks to avoid the rotten tomatoes*
Don't worry! I'm actually working on a post right now, it should be posted by Wednesday. Instead, today I have a question to ask.
If you haven't noticed the Writing is Life family is steadily growing, along with the blog's personality as I become more at home with this whole “blogger” thing. I have been thinking about this for a while and I don't really know what to do, so I've decided to ask y'all…

Should I change this blog's name?

When I first started blogging I didn't really consider my blog name that much, I really just punched it in and rolled with it! But as time goes on I keep realizing how common my blog name is and how it might be harder to find my blog through Google and stuff like that with just the name.

What do y'all think? Should I change my name? And if so, do y'all have any ideas??
Either way I'm pretty happy with how it is, but it might be nice to do more of a blog makeover!

Also, Libby May over at Geoturtle is interviewing me this week, so go follow her so you don't miss anything!

Happy Writing,

  1. You're the only blog that's named Writing is Life as far as I know. I like it just as it is.

  3. Your blog is amazing! 😊 It's one of my favorites. You're the first one I ever followed and one of the first people that came to my blog. Your blog name has meaning beyond its three words. The heart behind it and the kindness in it has encouraged many people.

To me, the name of your blog is just fine. That being said, if you feel like you want something different then I say go for it. Whether the name changes or not, the same amazing person is still behind it all. 😁

    God bless you!

  4. I really like the name "Writing is Life", I mean, writing IS life, at least where I'm concerned. XD I wouldn't change it, but if you want to it's your choice... it's your blog, after all! :)

  5. I think Writing Is Life is a fine title! But if you don't like it, by all means change it :)

I'm considering changing my blog title, actually. Thing is, changing my url would be chaotic...

    2. I don't know, honestly. I was just thinking maybe it could be better...

But I really don't know if I want to do that. I'm glad you like my current title! :)

  6. I love your blog's name, in all honesty. the thing for me would be changing my URL, or even buying a domain so that I would have a professional author website :p Oh well. But I LOVE YOUR BLOG. So, change it or don't- whatever is right for you.

    1. Aww, thanks! <3

And you could always do what Jane Maree did and create a different blog to be your author website. :)

  8. Welp everyone else seems to like the idea of 'Writing is Life' but I'll shoot my thoughts anyways. Personally, I like the title, but calling it something like "Gray Marie" would have a more professional feel to it, and might fit better with your url. "Gray Marie [insert some symbol or // or something] Writer" could also be another idea that would a) introduce your name immediately when people opened your blog and b) show that you're a writer and most of this blog is going to be about writing. :P

So yep. Those are my thoughts. Feel free to throw them out the window and listen to popular opinion or just do whatever /you/ want. XD

  9. Naw, I'd keep it. Not every blog can be Into the Ravenous Maw. You're probably better off with a nice, normal name, haha.

  14. I don't know that's hard well one thing you should describe yourself in I guess rebel words (I'm not great with that kind of stuff) Show your personality with it like decorate it to make it look/seem more like you

  15. I have a few ways of thinking of blog-titles:
~My personality. What are some words used to describe my personality? What are some titles that my type is given? What are some traits I have that my personality type is said to? (etc.)
~Things I like to do; such as reading, writing, horseback-riding, exploring, telling stories; etc.
~A line from a poem that describes me
~Something people call me (like a Dreamer or Storyteller)
I hope this helps! I really like the title of your blog that you have now, but I understand about wanting to call it something else. When I was first starting out, I changed my blog's title A LOT. The blog I have now is one that I am going to stick with; I'm not going to change the title or quit on it (I've done that far too many times).
    Again; I hope this helps!

  18. I personally like the name of your blog :) It's a very true statement that I think all writers can relate too.

However, if you feel it no longer fits the topics of your posts, I would definitely experiment with new names! I've never changed a blog name before, but I have changed the tagline under it. Mine used to be "journey of an aspiring indie author" until I realized that wasn't really want I blogged about anymore, so I changed it.

I think as long as it feels like "you," anything will work!
