Room Tour

When you had so many posts planned, but your oral surgery stole the life from you........

Blegh. So I stole this idea from Lilah, because why not? (Read her room tour HERE). I think it would be kind of cool to show y'all my room anyway...

My dad actually made my room (and half of our house), so I'm really proud of it.

   My awesome built in bookshelf.

Bookshelf/makeup shelf, but ignore my lipstick addiction. XP

The closet doors, I will not be showing y'all the inside because it needs to be organized desperately.

For some reason this corner decided to be all dark and emo, even though I worked really hard to make my room light and airy...

Desk number 1, and yes, I keep up Christmas lights all year.

I got the roses idea from Ikea.

Look at the poor neglected backpack that I only use once a week.

My mom was getting rid of this, but I use to pretend this was the wardrobe to Narnia when I was younger, so I told her I would put it in my room because #nostalgia

My tiny twin sized bed, I wanted a good amount of floor space in my room, and when you're only five foot a twin bed is perfect.

And finally my desk no. 2, which is where I am writing this post now! :P

Well, I hope you enjoyed a tiny look into part of my world, sorry that this post is so random and thrown together.

What does your room look like?

Happy Writing,

  1. THIS IS AMAZING!! I love desk number 2 because its blue!! And your room looks awesome. I love the lights everywhere and the bookshelves and the fact that your dad built half the house!! That's awesome!! Maybe I should do a room tour soon. But I'm planning on painting some furniture, so that might have to wait. But this is super inspiring.

Since you love lipstick, what brands do you recommend? I have two that I use a lot because they're peach-reddish colors, but I'm looking for some good brands.

Anyway, awesome post! Hopefully your mouth is feeling better. What kind of surgery did you have to go for, if you don't mind me asking?

    1. Thanks! You should!!!

I usually just buy the Katy Kat Matte because it's cheap and it stays on FOREVER. And you can basically find it in any color.

I had an impacted molar, so that had to be taken care of quickly, and I'm feeling better than I've felt all week today. ^-^

    2. it's nice. For the longest time till i turned 18 i had a twin sized bed and once i got a double sized bed on my 18th birthday from Ikea my thoughts were ( this thing is ugly!) i have gotten used to it by now. My room has lots of running stuff on the wall specifcially on top of and around the walls surgounding my desk. Everything from my only first place medal, random finisher medals, running bibs ( THERE ARE A LOT OF THOSE!) and on most of the running bibs i put the location of where I ran the race that the certain bib was for. My window sill is disgusting as i dump all liquid substances out the window when cleaning... a LOT of my furniture in my room is old, decaying, or broken. The desk I am typing down at now is one I got for free. (long story) and my poor office chair is in sad condition..... my awesome couch which used to be my brother's and before than long long ago was may dad's..... it has lost bout all the fake leather and is a eyesore in away, but very comfy. to keep from overcrowding I have my dresser in my closet. I like it as it is and prefer old things over new things. I don't often like change all that much....

    3. That's cool!
I'm glad you've gotten use to it. And I can bet on the running posters, and medals. ^_^

Free stuff is awesome, and I get the thing about change.

  2. Your room is so stinkin' cute and purrrty!!! I love how light and airy it feels! Seems like the best place to write a Jane Austen novel...

    1. Basement? Wow, that sounds like it could be pretty cool, but also crammed.
I use to share a room with two of my younger sisters, it can get very messy!

  4. Oh wow, your room is so cute 😂. I love the Christmas lights!

I agree with you on the twin bed, it's perfect for little gals like us 😄.

Hope you feel better soon! Oral surgery is NOT fun to get over...

  5. Loooooove your room! It looks so nice! Built in bookshelf are on my dream furnishings along with a window seat type thing.. Oral surgery sounds really bad, I will be in prayer.. How bad is it?? Ibuprofen and clove are friends in that situation... Christmas lights are good to keep up all year. We do it as well:) Thanks for sharing and inspiring!

    1. Thanks, and for sure! We have a window seat in our dinning room, actually.

Ick, it is. My pain is around a 3 now thankfully, the worst part is that I can't really brush my teeth, and it's driving me crazy. 😐

      You're welcome, thanks for reading!

  7. You have a very pretty room! I love your hanging roses and the lights around your mirror. It looks so fairytale-ish! I share my room with two sisters, and so far we're kind of changing our room theme to be more 1950's with black and white photos of old movies and stuff.

That's so cool, I thought about going vintage myself when we built my room, but I already had more victorian looking furniture, so I went with that feel. 😊
Sounds like a lot of fun though!

  9. I love your room!! I kind of wish I had a twin bed rather than a queen bed, because my room is small and so the bed takes up 80% of the floor. xD There's barely enough room to walk around.

And I LOVE your blue desk! Mine is much smaller and simpler and brown. :P

    Fun tour, Gray! :D

  16. GRAY YOU’RE ROOM IS TOO CUTE FOR WORDS. <3 Also your mom is awesome for letting you keep the old wardrobe door! My parents do not know anything about building houses or interior design, so most of my room is built of eccleticness & not bright and airy. xD

When we started planning to build my room I was going through a goth phase and I wanted to paint it black, but thankfully my parents said no, or else my room would be like a tomb now. XD

It sounds fun to be a bit random with everything though!

  19. I love, love, love your room Gray! This was a really fun post.
I'm 5'4" but I too decided I would do with a twin bed for more floor space in my room. I have yet to regret that choice!
I also really like both your roses and the Christmas lights. I've considered putting up some of the latter in my room but always found something else to spend my money on. ;)

Yes, twin beds are great, especially when you want floor space.
I've been meaning to buy fairy lights, but like you, I always burn my money elsewhere... ^_^

  20. I like the colors in your room. Soft, peaceful. My walls and carpet are blue, so they're a little bit louder. My bookcase is a converted curio with glass shelves. Unfortunately, five shelves is not nearly enough. I'd say, judging by the photos, my room's about the same size as yours, and I also have a twin bed, though mine's an extra long (or some such designation). I'm 5'9", so the bonus length of the mattress gives me the perfect amount of space. Back in July, I wrote a post for Odyssey about what I have on my writing desk at all times. https://www.theodysseyonline.com/whats-on-my-writing-desk My desk basically looks the same now as it did then.

  22. I love your room! And your bookshelves are genius! My sister and I share an open room upstairs. There is a chimney in the center of our room, we use that as the divider and then furniture. So the very end of the room is mine... it is surrounded by bookshelves and art shelves and boxes and boxes of books. There's one small window that lets light in from my side.

  25. Wow! Your room is awesome!! I love the blue Narnia waredrobe! There is a closet in our house that my sisters and I would go stand in, hoping to get to Narnia. We swear that one time we felt branches.

Your room is so huge! I share a room with my two sisters, so there isn't a lot of floor space, but we did redo it in June and it has a little more room!

*high five* We have Christmas lights up in our room too!

I LOVE ALL THE BOOKS!!!!! Because of the limited space, we have our books in bins, under our beds, so we don't get to look at them. *pouts*

Thanks for showing us your awesome room! :)

    1. Thank you! I found that using light pastels for everything makes it seem bigger. ;D

I'm glad y'all got more floor space!

SAME. And aww, that is sad. :/

Have you looked into getting wall shelves? That's what I did when the only space I had was my bunk when I was sharing with my little sisters. I lined the walls with books on mini shelves that you screwed on, they're very cheap and they don't take up a lot of space. ^-^

You're welcome, thank you for reading!
