Meet the Characters

I'll be honest, I had no idea what to post, but I got this  idea. Today I am going to introduce you to some of my characters! Because, well, why not?
I also want to say I'm sorry if I haven't commented on some of y'all's blog posts lately, internet has been sketchy. But I shall try to catch up today! So onto the characters!!!

Who can forget about Kimberly Wallace?
Now seventeen, she is still very much the hot head, but despite her hard shell, she has a secret soft spot for her family and friends.

When I told one of my friends that I was writing a story from Brad Wallace's point of view six years later, she made me promise that he would be cute. So there. Happy? But he's twelve, so he's way too young for most of you!
Brad is sweet, but a little too trusting sometimes, which is really how his story really kicks off.

Ah, Frump. Dear, sweet, Frump.
Loyal and trusting and very clueless on most things.
He leaves for college this year, but don't worry,
Frump has a habit of sticking around, even when he's gone...

And Lana, Frump's mom.
Where do I start? Well, she's one of the reasons Frump is so weird, besides, well, Frump's secret (Which some of you may know if you read Forest Zooks).
But Lana is the quirky owner of the only store and gas station in Zookville.

So you met some of the characters! Not all of them, because I couldn't find pictures that I thought looked like Mr. and Mrs. Wallace and because I haven't fully developed all of the new characters yet... Now I'm off to go catch up on y'all's newest posts!

What did you think of my characters? I know I didn't put a lot of info about them, but did any of y'all get any thing out of that? Lol. Oh, and how did finals go? I know some of y'all went through them last week, I'm sure I'll read about them when I go one some of your blogs!!!

Happy Writing,

What age group do you think Forest Zooks appeals to the most? (YA, kids, adults....)

    1. Well, it's juvenile fiction, but my friends and their friends read it and enjoyed it. I'm planning on doing a giveaway sometime, hopefully..
And Frump is sweet! I'm obsessed with writing short stories about him, but I don't think I'll ever write a novel or novella based off of him sadly.

    2. Yay! Is it at the library. I saw it on Amazon, but I wanted to know if it was at my library before I got it. I'm EXCITED to read it! *flails*
Aww. Well, I bet those short stories are AWESOME! *sqeals*
I love my characters. I have about a million WIP's in progress, so I've decided that I'm going to use some of those interesting people in my new book. That's make things COOL! I'm so excited!!!!

    3. It's at the Bryan College Station library, but as for anywhere else, I don't know.
I'm so excited for you to read it, too! I must warn you though, although my mom, an English major who was also an ex English teacher, and I thoroughly edited it...some typos and errors STILL got in! It was SO annoying when I re-read it!! But oh, well. I'm only human and I don't have an editor, so yeah.. Just a heads up! :P
And interesting people are a MUST in new books!! xD

    4. I don't think it;s at my library. *cries* OH WELL. I'll get it off Amazon! It's fine, dear. MY MOM is an English major, TOO! *flails* #twinsies I'm pretty good when it comes to grammar, but I get her to look at my writing anyway. xD
If you ask me, characters MAKE the book. Not literally, but... lol

    5. Aw, sorry!
Oh, and my mom isn't an English major! Sorry I didn't make myself clear, my mom AND an English major and ex English teacher helped edit!
But that's so cool that your mom is!!!
And YES. Characters are so important.

  3. I just found your blog and loved your recent post. I have many characters as well. I loved Brad, even though I am almost 15. And Frump... growing up. (I know, I am weird by believing in characters! But weirdness is good, right?)
BTW, how did you design those pictures? I would love to do the same for mine! Happy writing!

ww, I just wanna hug Lana! Your characters are so interesting. I might just be my goldfish brain, but are those characters from Forest Zooks? I've been wanting to read Forest Zooks. I'll tell you what I think after I'm done. I'll prob read it during the summer.
I'd like to learn more!!! *hint, hint* You have my email, so if you ever have the snippet urge...I'm open to read and encourage. :)

    2. Yes, they are the characters from Forest Zooks, only they are slightly older now. In Forest Zooks Kimberly and Frump were twelve and Brad was six.
And hey, who knows? I do sometimes email snippets out to friends, so maybe I'll do that!

Do libraries have your books? When it comes to publishing and marketing and all that, I'm blank. Lol I'll see anyway. :)
