10 Reasons to Be Happy

Need some positivity? This post is for you!

1. You are worth so much.

It's amazing how no one ever has any idea on how much of an impact they have on others, but I promise they do, and so do you. You know how many days you have probably made for someone? Or how many times you've made someone smile for the first time all day?

You have the ability to impact others, my friend. And that is amazing.

Plus, according to Psalm 139:14 you are "fearfully and wonderfully made". <3

2. There are multiple flavors of ice cream in the world.

c'mon, that's pretty wonderful.

3. Whatever you're going through it will end.

You need rain to have flowers, and every night has a sunrise at the end of it. Hold on, it's so worth it.

4. Jesus died for you.

Believe, obey, and be saved. Acts 16:30-33

"And ye now, therefore, have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoiceand your joy no man taketh from you."-John 16:22

5. You're more attractive than you think.

According to most psychology theories anyway, here's an article that I found interesting

 6. Sunday mornings exist.

I just love the simplicity of Sunday mornings, listening to acapella hymns on the way to church, being surrounded by brothers and sisters in Christ all day long, fellowshipping, studying, and growing more in the faith.

If that ain't your Sunday morning routine, make it yo' Sunday morning routine.

7. Music is a thing, and it's w-o-n-d-e-r-f-u-l.

For Christian music, I'd recommend the Mccoy Family Singers.

But for entertainment, I'd recommend Cavetown and Sabrina Carpenter.

8. Books!

Books are such magical things, they can give you new perspectives, transport you to other worlds, make you laugh, and make you cry.

Currently, I'm reading Muscle and Shovel by Michael J. Shank, it's a true story and it hits so hard. 10/10 would recommend, everyone needs this book on their bookshelf.

9. You're alive.

Have you ever realized how complicated just breathing is?

According to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services,

"When you breathe in, or inhale, your diaphragm contracts (tightens) and moves downward. This increases the space in your chest cavity, into which your lungs expand. The intercostal muscles between your ribs also help enlarge the chest cavity. They contract to pull your rib cage both upward and outward when you inhale.

As your lungs expand, air is sucked in through your nose or mouth. The air travels down your windpipe and into your lungs. After passing through your bronchial tubes, the air finally reaches and enters the alveoli.

Through the very thin walls of the alveoli, oxygen from the air passes to the surrounding capillaries (blood vessels). A red blood cell protein called hemoglobin helps move oxygen from the air sacs to the blood.

At the same time, carbon dioxide moves from the capillaries into the air sacs. The gas has traveled in the bloodstream from the right side of the heart through the pulmonary artery.

Oxygen-rich blood from the lungs is carried through a network of capillaries to the pulmonary vein. This vein delivers the oxygen-rich blood to the left side of the heart. The left side of the heart pumps the blood to the rest of the body. There, the oxygen in the blood moves from blood vessels into surrounding tissues." -source

Anyways, the fact that we're alive is pretty amazing, and I know miracles have ceased, but every breath is a modern day miracle to me poetically speaking. 💛

10. Statistically speaking more illnesses have been cured today than ever before.

That's pretty great, right?

Annnndddd a bonus one!

  8. I was actually super excited to open this post bc I was just feeling pretty gross and discouraged due to my procrastination tendencies. (The fact that I'm procrastinating reading this post is sort of irrelevant.) This has reminded me to be thankful and positive and refocus on living this day - this moment - for Jesus. Thanks! <3

  10. I LOVE THIS!! (I actually was in a happy mood before I started reading, but this only made me smile MORE!)

Though now I'm a little sad because I'm in the mood for ice cream and currently ate the last carton two days ago and still need to go out and buy more. When one only goes to the store once a week...sacrifices must be made.

  15. Great bits of truth. When I'm not so happy I write Satire. It usually makes me laugh sooo hard out loud while I write it, too. (I might chuckle if I write something, but Satire has me struggling to write and breathe at the same time). Once I wrote a blog post called "How To Be Depressed". And I was going through such a hard time, but wow that post made me laugh and feel better for a day. So, I'd add laughter to your list of happy things ;D I'm so addicted to it ;D
