this post is cliche but for some reason we never let this message sink into our heads

You know that moment where everything in your life just seems to be crashing down along with your self-esteem and the only thing rising is your anxiety + blood pressure???

That moment when you just need to climb to the top of a mountain and go "AAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!"

Yeah, me too.

Let's face it.

Life is scary, emotional, awkward, complicated, and messy (very messy). It comes with typos, weird silences, even weirder body odors, and did I mention it's emotional?!?!

The fact is that the world we live in is cruel and filled with anxiety and sleepless nights, doubt and sadness and feeling like you don't belong is normal for everyone, but that fact doesn't make the pain any less.

You're not perfect, but no one is. You're a mess, I'm a mess, the world's a mess, and it's not pretty. I'm not going to sugarcoat it, lie, and say that our messes are beautiful, because let's be honest, they're kinda and totally not cute... in the slightest.

HOWEVER, I'm here to say that no matter how hopeless this crazy life feels, that there's still hope.

The point is, you're still here. You're still breathing and you're still taking steps forward. That's something.

The point is: y o u  m a t t e r. (add clapping emojis here for more emphasis). God who created the universe, the stars, the oceans, and dimples created you as well. You're going to make mistakes, but it's not the falling down that defines you in your walk, it's whether or not you get back up again.

  6. Yes! Our identity is in Christ, not in anything we have done.

  15. Oh man, those words, "you matter", hit so hard because that's the exact message I want to share with people who need hope. If only they knew that they matter and they are loved!

Thanks as always for your beautiful insight. I know someone will read your words one day, if they haven't already, and perhaps hear just what they need to be reminded of hope. <3
