once u n s t o p p a b l e

She grabs my hands and we're spinning, screaming, laughing
The lights blur together around us, the stars, the fireworks dance around us in a haze
Is this what youth feels like?
We’re dancing, tripping over soda and beer cans in our muddy converse shoes
And I’m certain that this is what falling in love feels like
Because I think I’m in love with everyone and everything in this moment

We are stars orbiting each other
Lost in the galaxy of being young in the moonlight

We are explosive
As unstoppable and neverending as the fireworks that light the sky tonight

In this moment, I’m sure we’ll be this age forever
That we will always be friends
And that this summer, this moment, this night will never end

- a memory from the summer of 2016

  3. I have the feeling this is bittersweet ... lovely post, lovely pictures. Hold onto the memories, they are worth making no matter what happens afterward ;)

    1. It is in a lot of ways, that friendship ended painfully, but I have so many good memories before it started going downhill that still make me smile. <3

      Thanks, Keturah!

  6. This is so beautiful. You're a very talented writer. I know you aren't worried about writing now, but I do think you still have a gift and maybe one day you'll get back to it, if you want, of course. (I will forever ship Jiper whether you get back to writing or not. xD)

  8. The descriptions in this are beautiful. You are an amazing writer, Gray. And perhaps you could write a story based on this. :D (If you want to of course, I'm not forcing you to), but I'm sure it would be AMAZING.

    1. Thank you so much, Quinley! I feel like I've been losing my knack for writing, so it's encouraging to hear that. <3
Maybe one day when the memories stop being bittersweet I'll use them as inspiration. <3 <3

    2. You're welcome. :) I don't think you have, just keep working on it (whenever you feel like it), and it will be there forever.
I would love to read a story about that one day. :)

  10. How do your pictures turn out to well in the dark? As soon as the sun starts going down, my image quality plummets like a penguin falling from iceberg.

    But I love your poetry!

    1. I usually adjust my ISO and try to take pictures while the sun is setting so there's still some light, otherwise I use my phone's flashlight to help balance things out.

      Thank you! <3
