9 Things I Want to Do During Autumn

Hello friends!
To be honest, I wrote this post before October... in the middle of September, and unfortunately for the authenticity of this post, I've already done a few of these things. I guess I'll be putting a checkmark and a new comment (my new comments will be in italics) on the ones I have accomplished so far.

Let's get onto the post!

>>>>>>>

Not to be basic, but Autumn is my favorite season. I love the color orange so much and it makes me happy to see the world covered in reds, oranges, and yellows. Also, PUMPKINS and leaves drifting to the ground. I adore the spooky yet cozy feel and vibe of this season.

The only four things I can think of that I don't like is:

  • The gross Halloween costumes and decorations. I'm all for dressing up and I think the costumes and effects are cool, but sometimes they go a bit too far?? Fake severed fingers and skeletons are fun, but I've seen some actually gross things and no thanks.
  • The scented candles. I LOVE the smell of this season!! But I'm allergic to fragrance, so walking into someone's house and getting a headache from their gazillion candles, isn't fun. Just actually bake something or use natural fragrances to make your house smell like autumn?? Please??? Idk, all those fumes can't be good for you.
  • School. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.
  • Flu season starts and ick, no

But that being said, I still adore Autumn!!

However, throughout the years I've noticed that holidays and seasons have started to lose their magic?? Maybe I'm just getting older and being more realistic.

ANYWAYS, this means I have to try harder to feel in the festive mood, so I have a few things I want to do this fall.

1. Go to the Farmer's Market and buy some pumpkins

Maybe I just enjoy this because my mom has taken us there every fall for the last few years, but I really enjoy it and always take a lot of good October pictures.

2. Make applesauce

I actually have to do this for a class of mine, but it feels like a fallish thing to do.

So I did, and it was a hit with my family... I didn't even get to eat any from the first batch because I left that night to go out with friends and they ate all of it while I was gone... -_-

I made a second batch and that is also gone.... it's a good problem to have, I guess.

3. Drive around the countryside and take pictures

I really want to get more pictures of the leaves changing this season and having my license make accomplishing this goal way easier.

4. Re-read The Raven Cycle and Harry Potter

Classic books that are perfect for rainy days are a must!!

5. Have a movie marathon

These are so much fun and super cozy.

6. Eat a caramel apple

I haven't been able to do this in autumn in FOREVER! Ever since I got my braces I've had to eat them in slices and it just wasn't the same so I just didn't bother. BUT I'M GETTING MY BRACES OFF ON THE SEVENTH SO YEAH. I'm doing this.

Currently, brace-free, and it feels GREAT. Still need to do this.

7. Watch a scary movie

I've been wanting to watch Get Out and Us for a while, seems like the time to do it.

I did this! THEY'RE SO GOOD (asides from the language, for some reason our TV didn't cut it out and it usually does??) but ahhhhh. Amazingness. Can we just talk about the mastermind Jordan Peele is?? I can't wait to see what else he comes up within the horror genre.

8. Go hiking

Where? I don't know, but I want to. I love hikes in general, but they're so pretty this time of year.

9. Listen to more true crime podcasts

I've been taking a small break from these, but I do want to get back into them. I enjoy Crime Junkies and Sword and Scale, but if you have any recommendations, tell me down below!

I've been doing this more, currently listening to Conspiracy: Women in the U.S. Military by Crime Junkie

What are your plans for this fall?

  5. Homemade applesauce is the best. My family makes applesauce constantly during the cold months. We don't puree ours, we just kinda squish it with a potato masher. It's delicious.

  11. Oh my word...your posts are always the most aesthetic this side of the universe, Gray!!! *-* You've definitely got some good ideas for fall and AHHHHH, applesauce. I love that stuff but am sadly unable to eat it because apples hate me. >.> Which is just lovely, but whatever.

BUT GOSH, YES!! I think what I like doing most is riding a whole ton because it's just so pretty and nice feeling this time of the year...and reading more...and writing...and just agh, I don't know. FALL. You probably get what I'm meaning. xD But if not, well, I can't explain. My brain just kicks into I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT mode whenever I think of fall.

    Anywho, away I go! <3
